Our Your Toddler's Program
- Our Investigator's Room

In our Investigators class we use their natural everyday experiences as teaching opportunities. The nurturing loving environment we provide allows toddlers to achieve both mental and physical goals at their own place.

About Our Investigators Class

Circle Time
This is the time the children gather together for group teaching. We learn shapes, colors, counting, and Spanish. We work on our zoo-phonics, sing songs and have stories.

Bible
God’s Word is taught through Bible stories and songs.

Zoo-phonics
This class establishes a good foundation for our zoo-phonics program which is used in all our classrooms.
Using animals and songs to teach letters is a great
way to introduce the alphabet to toddlers.

Math
We introduce numbers 1-10. We use hands on activities to teach counting which also helps with small motor skills.

Science
Some of our favorite experiments are food tasting,
watching water change color by adding food coloring
and finding which things float or sink.

Reading Center

This is an area that provides another opportunity
for the children to explore a variety of books in addition to the  ones we will be reading in class.

Spanish
Please read our brochure regarding our “Spanish Immersion Program”.

Arts & Crafts
Basic simple crafts are done using a variety of materials. We enjoy showcasing their masterpieces throughout our room.

Sensory Table
The sensory table is used to stimulate and develop thinking, creative play, social interaction, fine motor development and language.

Outside Play
Outside play and fresh air are important for each child’s growth and development. We go outside every day, weather permitting.

Dramatic Play
It is scientifically proven that the more imaginative a child is, the better their problem solving skills will be. The dramatic play area is set up so the children can play dress up and create their own fantasies.

Nap Time
Sleep is an important part of a child’s day. Each child will be assigned a mat and a sheet that we provide. A blanket and even a special stuffed toy may be brought from home for naps. Instrumental music is played during this time.

Toys
The toys in the room are age appropriate and are chosen carefully to be educational as well as fun. Toys are thoroughly washed everyday after use.

Food
We serve breakfast, a morning snack, lunch and an afternoon snack. We are a part of the Michigan Food Program which monitors us to ensure we provide balanced nutritious meals. We send menus home one week in advance so you know what is being served each day. We are a peanut free zone.
