3's and 4's Preschool

One’s environment is a great force in how a person behaves and feels. The shape of the room, how the space is divided up, the equipment, the temperature, colors and decor all affect how children feel. We believe the environment should support the child’s development by offering interactive experiences that are challenging and safe for their age group.

Blocks: Blocks that are different sizes help children discover special relationships and provide them with the opportunity to represent their experiences on a small scale.

Dramatic Play: Dramatic play allows children to act out a wide variety of roles and themes. Props include items like a variety of hats, men’s jackets, women’s dress clothes and purses. These items encourage the children to pretend, and it stimulates their imagination.

Reading Corner: A child’s interest in print leads to an increased interest in writing and reading. Signs, charts and graphs are used throughout the room to capture the interest of your child.

Art Area: Children need to express themselves. They can do this by easel painting, drawing, forming things with clay and various forms of art.

Listening Lab: God has blessed us with a listening lab. We currently have four listening stations that the children use.

Calendar Time: A small group time where we will learn about months, days and seasons.

Math: There will be a lot of hands on activities during math time. We will be learning about numbers, money, time, addition and subtraction, sequencing and spatial concepts.
